Cobham Rugby Club is run almost exclusively by a host of volunteers who make it all happen. Whether that’s coaching a team, being a pitch marshall at a festival or managing a squad - we’re all volunteers.
The Value the Volunteer Awards for the 2015-16 season, where we can publicly thank those who contribute in their own significant and individual way, is now open. The Awards scheme will again run along the following lines:
1. Vote for Club Member of the Year. This is the Members’ award whereby the Club members vote on who they consider has contributed the most to the club. To submit your entry (one entry per member!) please email webcontent@cobhamrugby.co.uk with the title “Members Award”.
2. Section Club Member of the Year. Each Section (Minis, Youth, Seniors) will appoint a Section Club Member of the Year. The members of each section will nominate a worthy person and the Section Chairman will have the casting vote on the winner (to be kept secret) who will be given an award at the Summer Ball. No doubt each Section will also be thanking others within their group too in whatever way they feel fit.
3. President’s Award. The Club Committee will make an award for the outstanding contribution to the Club, again to be presented at the Summer Ball.
These Awards are not huge in number or scope, but a small way of acknowledging the immense amount of time and effort certain people put into the club to produce some fantastic results on the pitch and a really great club spirit off it.
Please do spend a little time making sure your voice is heard. All entries must be submitted by 11.59pm on Friday June 3rd and the results will be announced at the Summer Ball on Saturday June 11th 2016.
