Recruits

Objectives
At Cobham we try to use mini rugby as a tool to “develop good people”, and we do that by promoting a child-centric and fun community club that values all our players, parents and volunteers. Mini rugby should develop confidence and character, as well as skills and abilities.
Approach
We promote rugby’s Core Values (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship), and use games based on the principles of Long Term Athletic Development to help develop a range of abilities such as jumping, agility, coordination, speed, balance, running, awareness, throwing and striking.
Rob and Euan have children in the U5s, and understand that at that age children have limited attention spans, learn best when having fun, get cold quickly and from time to time won’t be at their best. Sessions are designed to make the most of the enthusiasm, energy and creativity that U5s bring to a rugby pitch!
When and Where
U5 Minis sessions will usually be run 9.30 – 10.30 on Pitch 1 at Old Surbitonians Memorial Ground, Fairmile Lane, Cobham.
There is some parking at the clubhouse, 80 spaces in total - these are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Overflow parking will be at Munroe House which is next to the club and which you enter from the A307 / Portsmouth Road.
