Fresh from their successful tour to France Cobham under 17s defeated Swanage and Wareham in their semi final and are now finalists in the National Shield Many Congratulations 
On a beautiful spring day Cobham U17s arrived in picturesque the town of Henley following their successful tour of Bordeaux. The warm-up displayed a nervous energy with the coaches keen to keep the intensity levels high but also keep focus on the matter in hand.
Swanage and Wareham kick off, the ball finds touch. Cobham line out, they secure possession and cut holes in the Swanage defence from the very beginning. Cobham advance up field and Alec O’Connor scores with only a minute gone. Taylor Burnett adding the conversion. From the kick off, Cobham catch and go again, wave after wave of Cobham attacks and Swanage can’t contain them. Another try and conversion follow.
Swanage finally gain the ball and exert some pressure on the Cobham line, however a great turnover from Ryan Aujla and the pressure is averted. Cobham again attack and are only denied by an errant hand preventing Joe Jelinek from scooting over. This led to a Swanage yellow card. From then on the rest of the first half is one way traffic, with Cobham scoring seven tries in total and an immaculate kicking display by Taylor making the half time score 49-0.
The half time talk is all about keeping up the intensity and denying the opposition. Mass substitutions and everyone is involved. From the kick off, Cobham win the ball back, the ball goes out to the backs and Charlie Spawforth waltzes through for yet another score.
Swanage have a bit more possession second half but can’t get over the Cobham line due to staunch defence. Whenever Cobham have the ball they look like they will score and four more tries follow, although Taylor manages to miss one of the kicks! Final score is 82-0 to Cobham with a hat trick for Joe Jelinek and Taylor Burnett kicking 10 out of 11 conversions with many from wide out. Will Stephen was successful with his only kick.

Cobham now go on to contest the National Shield final at the AJ Bell Stadium (home to the Sale Sharks) on Sunday 1st May against Barkers Butts.
