Stop Press- Premier Pitch

Brown Patch Disease

With the beginning of the new season fast approaching, there has been much preparation behind the scenes, including the upkeep of all the pitches. Unfortunately, the Premier Pitch is suffering from what is known as 'Brown Patch Disease', which is a brutal fungal disease that can spread and cause major damage to the grass if not treated correctly.

The pitch requires a few weeks of various treatments and will therefore be off limits until possibly the beginning of October.

This will obviously have a huge impact on the start of the season for the seniors, the U5's training and the U18/17/16's league games. Until we are advised differently, the U5's will use the grass area in front of the clubhouse and all senior and youth games will be played on pitches 2 & 3 at the Memorial grounds.

This is an unfortunate circumstance and out of our hands. Please be assured that the groundsmen will be doing all they can to ensure the Premier pitch is returned to it's former state, in order that we can start using it again as soon as possible.  We will keep you updated with the progress of the treatment.

We look forward to seeing you all in the new season
