Saturday 23rd April saw in excess of one hundred sponsors, members and guests sit down to a very good end of season lunch in the clubhouse.
Mundays' generosity in providing several bottles of wine to each table, to celebrate the clubs hugely successful season including promotion back to London 1 South, met with great appreciation from all present.
The whole of the senior squad assembled in the clubroom in order to be thanked by the President for all their efforts and dedication throughout the season. It was also the opportunity to present the ‘Spectators Player Of The Year’ award to 1st team stalwart, Josh Brown.
Following lunch, President Lionel Frewin made a short speech of thanks to both sponsors, members, Cobham Curve staff. He also welcomed Rolf Stratford, President of Winchester RFC, who attended the lunch together with a large group of supporters, who responded in fine form. He also sought to encourage more club members to volunteer for various tasks that are essential to running this successful club and enable us to fulfil our future ambitions together with a final reminder regarding booking for this year’s Summer Ball on 11th June 2016.
The draw for the 100 club also took place with Norma Johnson winning the £1000 prize and Paul Cragg £100.
