A packed function room at Sandown Park, which included RFU CEO Ian Richie, saw Cobham’s Director of Rugby Steve Pope and U21’s Coach Chris Gibbons collect the London 2 South West winners shield and U21’s Cup from guest of honour Andy Gomarsall MBE on behalf of the club.
We were also delighted to see Anthony Shelton, the driving force behind the development of the hugely successful Surrey U21’s tournament, stand to receive the accolade of being one of the recipients of the Surrey Rugby Recognition Awards for this year.
Andy Gomarsall gave the main speech of the evening which was short, amusing and well received by those attending.
