Cobham RFC to host Rovers Invitation touring party

Under 14 and Under 16 squads from South Africa to train at Fairmile Lane

Cobham RFC will welcome the Rovers Invitation Under 14 and Under 16 squads from South Africa this Saturday (1 December), as they begin their tour of the UK. The trip has been organised by former Cobham scrum half Etienne Van Den Brink and the players will be using the club facilities and holding a training session to start their tour.

The Rovers Invitation tour party is made up of players selected from the annual Paarl Gimnasium Under 16 and Under 14 tournament, where 40 teams from all over South Africa participate. All the top rugby schools in South Africa including Paarl Gimnasium, Paul Roos Gimnasium, Grey College, Affies and Paarl Boys' High take part.

15 of the players in the Under 16 squad played representative rugby this year for the Western Province (Stormers), Bulls, Sharks, Lions and SWD Eagles, and Cheetahs.

Whilst in the UK the Rovers will be playing Newbridge RFC, Bristol Bears and Exeter Chiefs.

We wish the touring party an enjoyable and exciting tour of UK.
