The continued development of girls rugby, under Community Coach Vicky Alexander, was evident at Cobham on Sunday with an Under 13 girls tournament being held at the Memorial Grounds.
Teams from Cobham, Sutton and Epsom, Old Alleynians, Berkshire Baa Baas, Oxford Baa Baas and Basingstoke competed with Cobham losing to Sutton and Epsom,winning against Old Alleynians and drawing with Oxford.
In an Under 15 girls cup match Cobham defeated Tunbridge Wells 42-0.
Cobham now have three Under 13's, seven U15's and two Under 18's who are currently representing Surrey County and have recently learnt that two girls have been selected for the South East England under 15 squad !
Steve Heard Chairman of Rugby at Cobham said 'The tournaments we are now holding together with the representation at County and Regional level are are testament to all the girls' hard work and determination to succeed coupled with the support and effort being provided by Vicky Alexander and her team'.
