The most significant change this week has seen the 25mm thick rubber shock matting started to be laid, prior to the installation of the artificial grass carpet.
The shock mat is laid in-situ from a small road type surfacing machine and comprises rubber granules mixed with a bonding liquid; this binds the granules together whilst allowing water to permeate through into the drainage system beneath the pitch.
Work is progressing well, with completion still projected to be on time (20 August).
