We are four weeks into the project to install an AGP at Fairmile Lane and over 180 lorry loads of soil has been removed from the site. The base of the excavated area has been laser graded and levelled, with the under pitch drainage installed and connected to the new soakaway.
Now the reinstatement begins, with the arrival of ‘type 1’ crushed concrete aggregate laid in rolled and compacted layers on a geotextile (which prevents the aggregate being washed into the soil below). This forms the structural base for the pitch.
The weather has been positive so far, meaning the project is on time for completion for the end of August.
